Second Quarter Goals Check-In

Hey loves!!!

One thing that I’ve learned in all of my years of setting goals for myself is to share those goals with others and have them hold me accountable.  Therefore, I shared with you all my goals for the beginning of the year on January 1st, 2017.  You can read that original post here.  Then in Q1, I gave you all an update, which you can read here.

As stated before, each and every quarter I’m going to revisit these goals to ensure I’m staying on track of my New Year vision and to make sure you keep track on your vision as well!

Here’s an update on my progress on my blogging goals:

  1. As of today, I partially have achieved my goal to post on my site at least once a week.  Fell off a little in March-May as that was the busiest time of year at work for me, but picking that back up now.
  2. I did officially create my podcast channel but am still working on getting my podcasts up and running.  This was something I said I wanted to do by Q2 but alas I have not.  Fingers crossed for this to be done by Q3.  Be sure you’re following it on Soundcloud here.  It will contain the same content as my blog posts but is for those out there who’d rather listen than read. I also plan to introduce a new series especially for women that you don’t want to miss!
  3. I kicked off my first giveaway in February and it was met with a great response rate. I also just recently reached 1,000 followers on Instagram and will be doing a giveaway to thank all of those lovely people here soon.  Be sure to follow me on Instagram for your chance of winning.
  4. I partnered with two other bloggers and hosted giveaways with them which helped me reach my network and collab goal for the year. I also did a joint Vlog with another blogger in April which was posted to YouTube! My first Vlog! You can view that here.
  5. I finished designing the first draft of my T-shirt and hoping to complete and finalize it for sale this summer.
  6. I have finalized my site logo (I think – I’m always changing my mind haha) and still working on creating those blogging business cards which I need.
  7. I have finally scheduled my first photo shoot to take place THIS weekend which is pushing me out of my comfort zone. Can’t wait to share those pics with you all.

Wow. I’ve made some great progress so far in 2017! I am still working on my e-book and increasing my visibility and other goals but so far so good!

In terms of my personal goals, I have been grinding hard and being more consistent as well as working on my relationship with God (which has taken a back seat to everything else in life. Yes, I know this is NOT good so I’m getting back to making HIM a priority). I’ve also taken a few trips already (Orlando and Costa Rica).  I still haven’t taken a new class (like jewelry making) but it’s on my list!

My fitness has picked back up and I’ve been able to get at least 2 workouts in a week, with most weeks being 3 workouts.

As I reflect over this second quarter, I am pretty excited about what I’ve accomplished so far.  I still have more work to do but we’re off to a good start!  I’ve also added a few additional goals – the biggest being to increase my Instagram following to at least 1,500 by end of year and to write my eBook.  What series would you like to see me write about?

Now what about you? How are you doing with your New Year’s Goals?  Let me know through the comments section.  If you’ve fallen off, it’s not too late to start! I’ll be checking on you again in the third quarter so best of luck!

~Many blessings,

First Quarter Goals Check-In

Hey loves!!!

One thing that I’ve learned in all of my years of setting goals for myself is to share those goals with others and have them hold me accountable.  Therefore, I shared with you all my goals for the beginning of the year on January 1st, 2017.  You can read that original post here.

Each and every quarter I’m going to revisit these goals to ensure I’m staying on track of my New Year vision and to make sure you keep track on your vision as well! Did you know that Forbes did a study back in 2013 saying that only 8% of people achieve their New Year’s resolution?  When you think about it, that’s really a small percentage.  So let’s strive to be in that 8%.

Here’s an update on my progress on my blogging goals:

  1. As of today, I have achieved my goal to post on my site at least once a week through February (and sometimes have posted more often than that).  Fell off a little in March but picking that back up now.
  2. I did officially create my podcast channel but am still working on getting my podcasts up and running.  This will be something I push toward in Q2.  Be sure you’re following it on Soundcloud here.  It will contain the same content as my blog posts but is for those out there who’d rather listen than read.
  3. I kicked off my first giveaway in February and it was met with a great response rate. I hope to give at least one more giveaway this year, even bigger than this one. I plan to do another giveaway once I reach 1000 followers on Instagram.
  4. I also partnered with two other bloggers and hosted giveaways with them which helped me reach my network and collab goal for the year. I also am planning to do a joint Vlog with another blogger in April so be on the lookout for that.
  5. I finished designing the first draft of my T-shirt and hoping to complete and finalize it for sale this summer.
  6. I have finalized my site logo (I think – I’m always changing my mind haha) and still working on creating those blogging business cards which I need.

Wow. I’ve made some great progress so far in 2017! I am still working on my e-book, photoshoot, increasing my visibility and other goals but so far so good! (Speaking of which, be sure you’re following me on my website or social media handles @only1lady_v. Help me reach my blogging visibility goals for this year! )

In terms of my personal goals, I have been grinding hard and being more consistent as well as working on my relationship with God. I’ve also taken a few trips already (Orlando and Costa Rica).  I still haven’t taken a new class (like jewelry making) but it’s on my list!  My fitness has shrinked to pretty much nothing due to the accounting busy season but after April 20th, I should be able to get back to my kickboxing classes and kick some butt like no one’s business! 🙂

As I reflect over this first quarter, I am pretty excited about what I’ve accomplished so far.  I still have more work to do but we’re off to a good start!  I’ve also added a few additional goals – the biggest being to do another blog series this year since my KnowYourWorth Series was met with such positive feedback.  What series would you like to see me write about?

Now what about you? How are you doing with your New Year’s Goals?  Let me know through the comments section.  If you’ve fallen off, it’s not too late to start! I’ll be checking on you again in the second quarter so good luck!

Happy New Year! (Vision & Action Plan)

Wow! I can’t believe it’s a New Year already. I am so excited for this year and what God has in store with me.  I know many people don’t believe in making New Year’s goals for whatever reason but I believe firmly in the scripture, Proverbs 29:18, that says “where there’s no vision, the people perish”.

You have to write down that vision and make it plain.  Studies have shown that people who write down their goals/visions tend to have a higher success rate of achieving them.  And my vision for this year is really simple:

  1. God.
  2. Goals.
  3. Grind!

God

God is always the head of my life and I want to continue to keep him first above all else.  2016 was a rough year for me in that my faith was challenged constantly. The last being when I had to have my first surgery in November.  But while my faith wavered, God always saw fit to bring me through every situation and I want to continue to grow in my walk with him. I’ll be sharing a separate blog/podcast late next week that deals with some topics specifically related to our spiritual relationship with God so stay tuned!!

Goals

My goals for my blog this year include:

  1. Posting to my blog site at least once a week.
  2. Start my podcast channel. (To begin in Jan)
  3. Giveaways and contests. (Kicking off in Feb)
  4. Create an eBook and interactive guide for women. (Kicking off in second half of the year).
  5. Network and collab with other bloggers.
  6. Increase my blog visibility, following and reach, including transitioning into vlogging (eeek!).
  7. Create t-shirts. (Already in process!)
  8. Finish writing my book.
  9. Finalize my site logo and business cards. (In process!)
  10. Photoshoot for my website. (I know you may be wondering why this is a goal for me. I’m actually not very comfortable in front of a camera. My friends taking pics of me with my phone is fine – I can handle that but a real photographer! I’ve had a few photographers reach out to me and tell me they want to shoot me so I’m challenging myself to get out of my comfort zone!)

Some of my personal goals include:

  1. Strengthening my relationship with God.
  2. Strengthening relationships among friends and family.
  3. Maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  4. Travel, travel, travel! (Kicking off this year with a trip to Costa Rica in 2 weeks!)
  5. Take a new class (I’ve really been wanting to do cake decorating or jewelry making!)

Grind

I created this blog back in 2014 after getting out of an abusive relationship but it really wasn’t until the end of November and beginning of December 2016 that I really started being consistent.  And now that I’ve developed that momentum, I will not stop! I am so excited for all of the support and encouragement I have received from each of you in such a short amount of time that I will keep grinding for you all in this coming year! I am so excited for the vision that I have for this year that I can’t even fully express the excitement in words so you all will have to stay tuned! Be sure you’re following on my website or social media accounts to ensure you don’t miss any of the giveaways, t-shirts or eBooks! (Twitter/Instagram/Pinterest: only1lady_v; Facebook: only1ladyv).

What are some of your goals for this year? Let’s be sure to pray for one another and keep each other lifted throughout this year!
